Here is our Checklist:

Current Backups...

• Backups are your first defense against any disaster, be it a Virus Attack, Hacker Intrusion, Hardware Failure, or Natural Disaster.  Be prepared for the unexpected and backup nightly or weekly on a rotational basis.  We cannot stress enough the importance of taking your back up media or drives off-site for storage...think of theft of fire!  (melted tapes or burned hard drives are not readable!) 

Virus Protection

• Any PC connected to the Internet or which has access to Email should have Virus Protection.  The most common point of entry for most viruses is Email.  Be sure to select a product with Email Protection.  Be sure to update your virus definitions routinely as outdated definitions are powerless against newer viruses. 
• For your Business Network, we recommend an Enterprise Solution from Trend Micro that will filter and protect your Mail Server, File Servers and each workstation.

Firewall/Router

• Firewalls are not just for big businesses anymore.  They are for everybody and are affordable.

• Filter/Block access ports to your PC/Network.  Simply stated, you control what comes in and have access to everything on the Internet.
